2. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I watch it every year and always feel like Santa at the end is a kick start to Christmas. It is definitely on my bucket list to see it in person one day.
3. My grandmother's sweet potato pie. This is my favorite Thanksgiving dessert and she makes one every single year and it's usually the first dessert to go. Last year my sister made mini pumpkin pies for the first time and I'm really looking forward to those as well.
4. Going Home. After moving away from my hometown 2 years ago I love being able to go home for more than just 48 hours (if that.) The time off to get home and really soak in a visit is really important to me. Although I love being in Asheville I grew up in a great town and I appreciate having it to go back to.
5. Being with family. As much as I LOVE Christmas, I love that thanksgiving is about just being with family. There aren't any presents to open, no gifts to stress out about getting wrapped but simply just being in the presence of people you care about and enjoying that time with them. Especially since moving away I value that time more than anything because I miss not seeing family as much.
